Weekend-walker has been setup for novice walkers and we aim to take the hassle out of walking for you until you gain enough experience/confidence to go it alone. We will do this by planning the route, organising meet up points and we will navigate for you when out on the hills.
Places need to be pre-booked as numbers are limited for safety reasons.
The walks will be easy to moderate level, and be between 2 - 6 hours long. We therefore require that walkers have the required fitness levels to complete the chosen route.
Weekend-walker is aimed at the novice walker, who has little or no experience of walking. We offer a range of walks for all fitness levels. These include Hill walks, Park walks, sections of the Fife Costal Path and Forest walks. The level of difficulty will be clearly graded as follows:
Easy walks will be relatively short and on generally flat ground and will be on paths/tracks.
Easy Plus walks will be as easy walks, but may have the odd incline on the route.
Moderate walks will be longer in length and may be on undulating ground, most of the route will be on paths/tracks.
Moderate Plus walks will be as moderate walks but will have steep sections, and may have longer sections over rough ground.
We do not provide transport to/from the walks. The walks will be circular and will normally have car parking nearby.
Weekend-walker accepts no liability whilst on walks and we highly recommend that walkers purchase their own insurance.
